Refund policy

This page covers money: when it comes back, how much of it, and how long it takes. It sits alongside the return policy, which covers the physical piece, and the shipping policy.

1. What a refund covers

A refund returns the price you paid for the piece. Freight paid to get it to you is not refunded, because that transport happened and the carrier was paid for it. The one exception is a piece that arrived damaged or was never delivered: there you get everything back, freight included.

You changed your mind, within 30 days Price of the piece

Warranty claim inside 10 years Repair, replacement or price, our choice

2. When we send it

For a returned piece: within five business days of the crate arriving back at the workshop and passing inspection. Inspection is a person looking at it, not a queue.

For a damaged or missing piece: within five business days of your photographs, and we do not wait for the carrier to finish its own investigation before paying you.

For an order you cancel before it ships: within two business days.

3. When it lands

We push the refund to the original payment method. After that the timing is your bank's, not ours. Cards usually take three to ten business days. If it has been fifteen business days and nothing has arrived, write to us with the order number and we will send you the transaction reference to give your bank.

We do not refund to a different card, a different account or a different person than the one that paid. That rule exists because it is the single most common route for payment fraud, and it is not negotiable.

4. Cancelling before the piece ships

Every piece is made to order and we start cutting when the order lands. That means the window is real and it is short.

5. Store credit

We do not issue store credit instead of money. If you are owed a refund you get money back.

6. Partial refunds

A piece that comes back used, oiled again, modified, or repacked in something other than its crate can be refunded in part rather than in full. We photograph the condition and show you those photographs with the amount before we deduct anything. You can dispute it and a person will look again.

7. Chargebacks

If something has gone wrong, write to us first. A chargeback freezes the order for months and it does not get your table to you any faster. We have never refused a legitimate refund and we would rather sort it in an afternoon by email.
